Dennis Max has a BS in business administration from University of California, Berkely, where he graduated in 1967. Following his service in the Army, he attended Marshal School of Business at the University of Southern California.

Dennis worked in the financial business as an institutional trader for various firms before entering his lifelong career in the restaurant business.

He was a Regional Director of the Southeast with Victoria Station where he oversaw operations, profits, culture, and identified new locations for growth from 1972-1977.

In 1978 he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he developed, launched, and operated a chain of restaurants called Raffles. The first was opened in Dadeland Mall in 1979. This was followed by nine additional Raffles throughout Florida and Georgia.

Dennis was credited with bringing New American cuisine to the Southeast when he created and opened Café Max in 1984 which is still open today.

He continued to develop, open, and operate forty additional restaurants’ including the famed Maxaluna and Max’s Grille in Boca Raton, Florida.

In 2018 he retired from the business, but continued Max Management, his consulting company. Max Management has conferred with several country clubs and restaurants.

Dennis resides in Naples, Florida and Saratoga Springs, New York.
